Thomas, Glass see gold

Snyder junior Zamir Thomas took first in the 200 and 400-Meter Dash.

It was another big weekend on the track for Zamir Thomas as the Snyder junior medaled in three different events, taking gold in two of them, during this weekend’s Group II championships.

Thomas paced the field in the 200-Meter Dash with a time of 21.49 seconds and won the 400-Meter Dash with a time of 48.53 seconds. He also took home second place in the 100-Meter Dash with a time of 10.79 seconds.

Not to be outdone was Najee Glass as the St. Peter’s Prep sophomore took home two golds of his own in the Non-Public A championships. Glass finished first in the 200-Meter Dash with a time of 21.88 seconds and first in the 400-Meter Dash with a time of 48.07.

Thomas and Glass will headline the contingent of athletes from Hudson County in the Meet of Champions this week. Among those joining Thomas and Glass are Tyrell Gibbs of St. Peter’s Prep (fourth in the Non-Public A 400-Meter Intermediate Hurdles) and Daniel Rondon of North Bergen (sixth in the Group IV 3,200-Meter Run).
