JERSEY CITY – With a deep lineup loaded with sluggers and speedsters throughout, scoring runs in bunches is nothing new for High Tech. And in the fifth inning, the powerful Lasercats’ offense proved downright unstoppable.
Trailing the entire game, eighth-seeded High Tech erupted for nine runs with two outs in that inning and never looked back in a 20-8 victory over Secaucus in the title game of the Hudson County Softball Tournament yesterday at the Thomas A. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

SECAUCUS - The HCTCA Championships kicked off yesterday with the field events with the Dickinson boys and Bayonne girls taking early control at the top of the leader boards.
The Rams had a stranglehold on the jumping events, taking first place in both the high and long jumps. Junior Jose Veras took the high jump crown with a leap of 6’6” and Terrol Ishmail’s jump of 19’3.5” was tops in the long jump. Garzon’s high school career may be winding down, but yesterday, he wasn’t yet ready to relinquish his crown as the county’s premier player. SECAUCUS - Yesterday's second stage of the Patriot Invitational was certainly a memorable one for the Dickinson boys track team. The Rams took home three first place finishes in the seven events for the boys. SECAUCUS – The adjustment from middle school ball to high school isn’t an easy one for a freshman. With three freshmen in the Patriots’ rotation, head coach John Sterling has little choice but to sink or swim with a collection of youngsters.

On the surface, there couldn’t be two teams more different than Secaucus and St. Peter’s Prep. One is a small Group I public school in the suburbs, while the other is one the state’s largest non-public programs located in the heart of Jersey City.
Giants Stadium is a familiar site for a Marauder squad that will play there with a state title on the line for the fourth time in five years. For the Patriots, it will be the first opportunity playing in the stadium that’s visible from their high school. Read More

It’s a program that has focused on a diversified offensive attack by committee along with offensive and defensive philosophies that reach from the varsity team all the way to the peewee level.

SECAUCUS – Success has not made the Patriots content. The three-time defending champions of the BCSL National division, playoff success had eluded Secaucus until last season, when they won a state playoff game for the first time in more than five seasons. However, their title hopes came to an end a week later when they dropped a 14-0 decision to Hoboken.
