The Bees rolled to the North 2, Group IV finals and won a third-straight county title. Tara Flynn and Lisa Rovatsos lead a squad which will be the favorites to repeat.
2. North Bergen Bruins (22-5)
Last Week: 1
Ashley Vazzona scored 1,226 career points as the senior trio of her, Ashley Heredia and Jazmin Palma helped lead the Bruins to a HCIAL regular season title.
3. Secaucus Patriots (22-5)
Last Week: 3
Andrea Innis and Shannon Waters graduate as the No. 1 and No. 3 scorers in school history. The tandem helped the Patriots to the HCT semifinals.
4. St. Anthony Friars (17-10)
Last Week: 5
Few played better down the stretch than the Friars who won eight of their last 10 games, including a 55-37 win over Newark Academy in the Non-Public, North B playoffs.
5. Holy Family Falcons (15-9)
Last Week: 4
Diane Forker averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds a game as the Falcons won 15 games and advanced to the semifinals of the Hudson County Tournament.
6. Kearny Kardinals (16-10)
Last Week: 6
The Kardinals doubled their win total from a season ago and return four starters, but will have to replace Janitza Aquino who graduates as the school’s all-time leading scorer.
7. St. Dominic Academy Blue Devils (15-11)
Last Week: 7
Bria Smith and Arianna Nieves both averaged double-figure points per game for a Blue Devils squad which won 15 games this season.
8. Lincoln Lions (10-13)
Last Week: 8
With two starters lost at midseason, sophomore Breana Bey stepped up in a big way for the Lions and finished with an average of 15 points and eight rebounds per game.
9. Marist Royal Knights (13-10)
Last Week: 9
Replacing Antoinette Blake’s 22 points and 18 rebounds per game will be a challenge, but the Royal Knights return four starters including Jasmine Brandon and Angela Randle.
10. Union City Soaring Eagles (11-13)
Last Week: NR
Junior forwards Shaela Rodriguez and Jovanique Meneses scored eight points apiece in a playoff win over Livingston and will likely be the focal point of the offense next season.
