Bayonne has earned the top seed in this year's Hudson County Girls Volleyball Tournament, which begins tomorrow.
The Bees, led by the outside tandem of Franchely Inoa and Amanda Borges have won 16 straight and enter the tournament with a 16-1 record. Bayonne, which reached the championship match a year ago, will open up on Monday against the winner of tomorrow's Ferris/St. Anthony matchup.
The undefeated Cougars of McNair (21-0) look to continue their incredible run as the No. 2 seed. Secaucus (13-5), the two-time defending champions, enter the tournament as the third seed and with virtually an entirely new roster from the previous two titles.
The tournament begins tomorrow with three play-in matches. The first round will take place on Monday, followed by the quarterfinals on Tuesday and the semifinals on Thursday.
The championship will be held on Friday, Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. at Saint Peter's College. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
