Secaucus 72, Brearley 29
The Patriots scored 27 of the game's first 29 points as they cruisedto an easy win in the opening round of the NJSIAA North 2, Group I playoffs last night in Secaucus.
As a team, third-seeded Secaucus (23-4) hit eight 3-pointers, led by five from Kendall Caruso. The five treys matched a career-high for Caruso as she finished with a new high of 19 points.
Julia McClure had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Andie Lennon scored 10 points. Ariana Simon chipped in with seven points, four rebounds and four assists. Alyssa Lyngholm and Danielle Roesing scored five points apiece. Lyngholm, a senior, and Lauren Guillen each had six rebounds for the Patriots, who advance to host New Providence in the quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
Christine Grispart scored 10 points to pace the 14th-seeded Bears (12-13). Brianna Dustin added nine points.
