Northern Highlands 55, Secaucus 37
The Patriots' quest for a miraculous title run came one game short as they fell to Northern Highlands on Friday in the finals of the River Dell Holiday Hoop Jam in Oradell.
Andie Lennon led the way for Secaucus (5-1) with 10 points, five assists and four rebounds. The freshman point guard earned All-Tournament team honors for her performance in the three-game tournament. Fellow freshman Julia McClure was named the recipient of the Miss Hustle award and finished with nine points and eight rebounds. Danielle Roesing and Bryonna McClure added six and five points respectively in defeat.
Jackie Reyneke led the way for the Highlanders (6-0) with 19 points and was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Kasey Dunbar added nine points as Northern Highlands broke the game open with a 20-5 second quarter to take a 17-point lead into the half.
