Julia McClure had 26 points and 18 rebounds as the Patriots earned their second-straight come from behind victory in the Holiday Hoop Jam semifinals last night in Oradell.
Trailing by 12 at half time, Secaucus (5-0) roared back with a 23-5 third quarter with McClure scoring 12 points in the period. Leading by as many 15 points, the Patriots' lead was cut to just two points until McClure, Andie Lennon and Danielle Roesing combined to hit 10 foul shots in the final two minutes to preserve the victory.
Lennon, a freshman, had nine points, seven assists and seven rebounds. Roesing, a junior, just missed on a double-double as she had eight points and 14 rebounds. As a team, eight different Patriots scored points, including sophomore Bryonna McClure, who buried a pair of 3-pointers off the bench.
WIth the win, Secaucus will face North Highlands in the championship game on Friday at 5:15 p.m.
Stephanie Hunage had 20 points to pace the Spartans (3-2). Brittany Stone and Dara Devaney added 17 and 12 points respectively in defeat.
