Roundup: Tide down Indians

Nicole Cerqueira, Harrison

Senior Nicole Cerqueira had a double-double for Harrison yesterday.

Harrison 38, Weehawken 25

Nicole Cerqueira posted her 16th double-double of the season as the Blue Tide emerged victorious in a Coaches vs. Cancer matchup yesterday in Weehawken.

Cerqueira, a senior, led all scorers with 11 points and added 12 rebounds. Briana O’Donnell added seven points, five rebounds and four steals for Harrison (10-12). Thainara Ramos scored six points as the Blue Tide raced out in front with an 11-2 opening period and never looked back.

Phyllis Duffy and Karina Martinez had eight points apiece to lead the Indians in defeat.

Secaucus 48, Saddle Brook 28

Andrea Innis led all scorers with 27 points as the Patriots cruised to their 18th-straight victory yesterday in Saddle Brook.

Innis, a senior, added 15 rebounds for Secaucus (20-2), which broke the game open with a 16-8 third quarter. Shannon Waters had a huge all-around performance as she finished with 12 points, 10 steals, six rebounds and four assists. Alyssa Lyngholm chipped in with six points.

Melissa Phelan scored 11 points to lead the Falcons (11-10) and Marissa Lortz added nine points in defeat.
