Tamara Tyre led all scorers with 26 in Snyder's season opening victory.

Tamara Tyre went off for a game-high 26 points as Snyder cruised to victory yesterday in Jersey City.

Tyre, a junior guard, added five rebounds, four assists and four steals in a dominant performance. Princess Laroche just missed a double-double as she finished with 16 points and nine rebounds for Snyder (1-0). Sharisse Francis drilled four 3-pointers to finish with 15 points.

Memorial falls to 0-1 on the season.

Kearny 44, Marist 40

Janitza Aquino scored 15 points as the Kardinals over a fourth-quarter deficit to knock off the Royal Knights yesterday in Kearny.

Aquino, a senior point guard, added five assists, five steals and four rebounds in the win. Stefanie Gomes scored 13 points for Kearny (1-0), while Ashleigh Amadeo chipped in with 11 points.

Marist (0-1) received a monster performance from Antoinette Blake in defeat. The senior center finished with 26 points and 25 rebounds.
