Roundup: Gill gets milestone for HFA

Christina Gill scored 22 points, including the 1,000th of her career as the Falcons held on for the win yesterday in Kearny.

Gill, who has 1,001 points in her career after reaching the milestone midway through the fourth quarter, had 13 rebounds for Holy Family (17-2). Diane Forker also had a double-double with 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists as the Falcons built up a 10-point lead after three quarters. Kaydee Murphy added seven points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals.

Holy Family was able to overcome a dominant performance by Janitza Aquino. The junior point guard drained four 3-pointers and finished with 32 points for the Kardinals (7-13). Ashley Latushko added 10 points and Stefanie Gomes scored eight points in defeat.
