Roundup: Denmark, Vazquez lift Marist

Desiree Denmark had 23 points and seven steals for Marist on Senior Night.

Marist 65, North Bergen 56

Seniors Ashley Vazquez and Desiree Denmark combined for 43 points to give the Royal Knights a victory on Senior Night last night in Bayonne.

Denmark scored a game-high 23 points to go with seven steals, six rebounds and four assists in the win. Vazquez added 20 points and six assists for Marist (15-7). Junior Antoinette Blake had a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling down 11 rebounds to go with four blocks.

Four different players scored in double figures for the Bruins led by Ashley Heredia’s 16 points. Laura Muriel scored 12 points and Kassandra Negroni and Jazmin Palma added 10 points apiece.

Andrea Innis had a double-double as the Patriots offense scored 32 first-quarter points and never looked back yesterday in Secaucus.

Innis finished with a game-high 17 points plus 10 rebounds and four assists. Ariana Simon added a career-high 12 points and pulled down seven rebounds for Secaucus (18-2).

Nicole Cerquiera led the Blue Tide (4-13) with 13 points. Bianca Martinez added 10 points in defeat.
