Roundup: Denmark hits milestone for Marist

Desiree Denmark became the eighth Royal Knight to score 1,000 career points.

Desiree Denmark scored 17 points to become the eighth girl to score 1,000 points as the Royal Knights won yesterday in North Bergen.

The senior reached the milestone in first quarter and now has 1,016 career points. Denmark added 10 rebounds and four steals as Marist (13-7) jumped out to a 30-point halftime lead. Antoinette Black had 18 points and 15 rebounds. Alexis Wilson scored 17 points while Ashley Vazquez had 16 points and a career-high seven steals.

Sophomore Sybil Lynch scored a career-high 36 points for the Lasercats (12-9) along with eight steals. Kristina Rivera added 23 points in defeat.
