Roundup: Patriots pull away in third

Andrea Innis Secaucus

Andrea Innis scored 13 of her game-high 31 points in the third quarter for Secaucus.

Secaucus 69, North Arlington 53

Andrea Innis and Shannon Waters scored 13 and nine points respectively in the third quarter as the Patriots scored 28 in the period to break the game open last night in Secaucus.

Innis, who finished with a game-high 31 points, also had 14 rebounds, seven assists and four steals for the Patriots (10-1). Waters had 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Freshman Ariana Simon scored a career-high 14 points and added 12 rebounds for her first career double-double in the victory.

Reema Sethi led the Vikings (7-3) with 12 points and Tara Fisher scored 11 in defeat.

Ashley Vazquez scored a game-high 23 points as the Royal Knights won their 10th game of the season last night in Bayonne.

The senior point guard connected on a trio of 3-pointers for Marist (10-3) in addition to eight assists, six steals and four rebounds. Fellow senior Desiree Denmark scored 19 points and Antoinette Blake added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Zierra Williams scored 14 points to lead the Lions.

Samantha Maggio and Connie Hayes scored nine and seven points respectively in the third quarter as the Bees used a 27-6 run in the period to win their 10th game of the season.

Lisa Rovatsos led the way for Bayonne (10-2) with a 16-point, 14-rebound performance. Hayes and Maggio finished with 11 points apiece. Maggio, a senior added five assists and five steals as well. Kerri Kosakowski scored 10 points.

Jazmin Palma led the Bruins (6-5) with nine points. Alyssa Aroyo and Maria Claros added seven points apiece.
