Roundup: Marist rolls in opener

Antoinette Blake and Desiree Denmark scored 16 points apiece as the Royal Knights took an early 17-point lead after the opening quarter and never looked back last night in West New York.

Blake, a junior, added 12 rebounds and three blocks in a double-double performance in head coach Damel Ling’s first game at Marist (1-0). As a team, the Royal Knights had 20 steals, nine of them by Denmark.

Caolanny Melo led the Tigers (0-1) with seven points and junior Tania Quito added six.
