Roundup: Kearny advances in HCT
Michael Acots had seven blocks and five kills in Memorial's HCT defeat.
Michael Acosta had seven blocks and five kills for the 11th-seeded Tigers as they saw their county championship hopes come to an end after dropping a 25-18, 25-22 decision to the sixth-seeded Kardinals in the opening round of the Hudson County Tournament yesterday in Kearny.
Jose Genis had nine digs for Memorial (3-14). Elicio Olivares added seven digs, three kills and a block. Jonathon Carpio tacked on three kills and two blocks, while Denis Barberena chipped in with four digs.
Kearny (11-11) advances to face third-seeded Harrison today in the quarterfinals.
