Roundup: Acosta, Carpio lift Tigers
Memorial junior Jonathon Carpio led all players with 16 kills.
Jonathon Carpio had a match-high 16 kills as Memorial enters the Hudson County Tournament on a winning note after downing Dickinson 25-15, 25-19 yesterday in West New York.
Junior Michael Acosta added 10 kills, four blocks and four digs for the Tigers (3-14) in the victory. Elicio Olivares had 14 digs, four aces and three kills. Jose Genis added 13 digs and Denis Barberena tacked on six digs. Lester Sinay chipped in with four kills.
Rahman Syed led the Rams (5-16) with three kills and three blocks. Ivan Prensa added four blocks and a pair of kills.
