HCT: Bruins stun Blue Tide in kicks

North Bergen 2, Harrison 1
Freshman Franco Collechio’s penalty kick goal was the game-winner to cap off the Bruins’ upset victory in the quarterfinals of the Hudson County Tournament yesterday in Harrison.
Jesus Solis made a pair of saves in the shootout period for sixth-seeded North Bergen (8-5-1).
The third-seeded Blue Tide (10-2-1) took the lead in the 26th minute on a goal by Bryan Costa. The Bruins’ Ricky Franco would tie it up on a penalty kick in the 46th minute of play.
Carlos Gutierrez made eight saves in net for Harrison, the defending Hudson County Champions.
With the win, North Bergen advances to face second-seeded Bayonne in the semifinals on Sunday at Caven Point.
St. Peter’s Prep 2, Union City 1
Senior Kevin Cunningham delivered a pair of first-half goals to pace the fifth-seeded Marauders in the quarterfinals of the Hudson County Tournament yesterday in Union City.
John Serzan assisted on both goals for a St. Peter’s Prep (11-4) squad which has won four in a row and avenged a pair of regular season losses to the fourth-seeded Soaring Eagles (10-4-1). Ryan Baird added six saves in net for Prep.
With the victory, the Marauders will face top-seeded Kearny in the semifinals on Sunday at Caven Point.
Kearny 3, Dickinson 0
Almir Batista recorded the hat trick as the top-seeded Kardinals blanked the Rams in the quarterfinals of the Hudson County Tournament yesterday in Kearny.
Chris Huacon, Renato Vigo and Amine Zaouia all had assists for Kearny (11-1-1), ranked 13th in the state. Tyler Anderson made four saves and Christian Videiro had one save to combine on the shutout.
Eighth-seeded Dickinson falls to 3-9-1 on the season.
With the win Kearny will face fifth-seeded St. Peter’s Prep in the semifinals on Sunday at Caven Point.
Bayonne 6, Memorial 1
Senior Patryk Dawidczyk had two goals and an assist as the second-seeded Bees scored four times in the opening half and cruised to a victory in the quarterfinals of the Hudson County Tournament yesterday in Bayonne.
Aboubacar Diawara added a goal and three assists for Bayonne (9-3-2). Bobby Attisano, Edgar Contreras and Bryen Barfield also found the back of the net for the Bees in the win.
Ahmed Bendary made three saves and Ryan Sprague had two saves for Bayonne. They advance to face North Bergen in the semifinals on Sunday at Caven Point.
Jason Londono scored the lone goal for seventh-seeded Memorial (3-8-2) in defeat.
