Roundup: Bruins fall in shootout

North Bergen’s season came to an end losing to top-seeded Morris Knolls in penalty kicks yesterday in the North 1, Group IV quarterfinals yesterday.
Morris Knolls (15-3-2) won the shootout session 5-3 with Marc Defeo’s goal being the game winner. John Guzman, Cesar Ventura and Diego Yepez scored in the shootout for the Bruins (14-7-2).
North Bergen took a 1-0 lead in the 56th minute on a goal by Brian Monsalve in front of the net. Amuar Manzamarez assisted on the score. Morris Knolls tied it up on Defeo’s goal in the 72nd minute.
Sergio Osorio made 12 saves in net for the Bruins, including a pivotal stop in the second overtime to force the shootout.
