Plainfield's Ahmid Williams' two free throws with 25 seconds left proved to be the difference as Hudson Catholic dropped its second game of the season Sunday night at the Playaz Basketball Club New Year's Jump Off in Hackensack.
Kavon Stewart tied the game for the Hawks (4-2) at 55-55 with a pair of free throws with 2:18 left in regulation. Stewart's foul shots erased an 11-point Hudson Catholic deficit after the third quarter.
Reggie Cameron led all scorers with five 3-pointers to finish with 23 points to go with 10 rebounds. Junior Michael Young added 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double. Stewart chipped in with 11 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Diijon Allen_jordan led a balanced attack with 14 points for Plainfield (5-1), last season's Tournament of Champions finalist. Sekou Harris and Jahmal Lane added 11 points apiece in the victory.
