St. Anthony point guard Elijah Carter has made a verbal commitment to play at St. Bonaventure University in 2010/11. The senior announced the decision on his Twitter account this afternoon.
Robert Morris University and La Salle University were among the other schools that Carter considered.
Last season for the Friars, Carter averaged 5.7 points per game in 27 contests. He also averaged 2.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game. Carter, who took over as the starting point guard midway through the season, scored a career-high 15 points in a win over Linden and scored 10 or more points in five games.
St. Anthony went 24-5 last season and advanced to the semifinals of the NJSIAA Non-Public, North B Tournament. Carter is the second Friar to make a verbal commitment to play Division I ball this season. Last week senior forward Derrick Williams announced he was going to the University of Richmond.
